Upgrade to UTA without closing your cross-margin positions | Bitget Support Center

To make upgrading to the unified trading account (UTA) even easier, we've simplified the upgrade process. You no longer need to manually close your positions before initiating the upgrade. Instead, the system will automatically migrate eligible futures cross-margin positions to your UTA at no additional cost. Eligible positions for migration include USDT-M, USDC-M, and Coin- M futures positions in cross-margin mode.

July 15: The new upgrade process will be available on the Bitget website, initially available to users with Coin-M futures positions (based on a snapshot of holdings as of July 10).

August 3: The new upgrade process will be available in the Bitget app and rolled out to all users. If you'd like early access, contact customer service and provide your UID to apply.

What happens to my positions after the upgrade?

USDT-M and USDC-M futures positions are migrated with the same position size , and Coin-M futures positions are migrated with the same position value .

Your average entry price will be updated to the mark price at the time of migration. Any realized PnL resulting from the difference between your original entry price and the migration mark price will be automatically settled and credited to your UTA.

The following positions are not eligible for automatic migration. If you hold any of these positions, please close them before upgrading:

Futures positions in isolated margin mode

Coin-M delivery futures positions

Margin positions in either isolated or cross-margin mode

Upgrade requirements:

Before initiating the upgrade, make sure your account meets all of the following conditions. Otherwise, the upgrade cannot proceed:

No open orders or outstanding debts in the account

Maintenance margin rate (MMR) below 20%

Not within the 5-minute window before or after a funding fee settlement

Leverage and position size are within the supported limits for the corresponding trading pairs in UTA
