Gate Event Contracts Launch: Trade BTC/ETH Price Movements | Gate Announcements

Gate has officially launched a new product — Event Contracts . Event Contracts are trading products centered on price direction prediction. Users do not need to pay attention to margin or leverage settings. Simply predict the price movement of an event to complete a trade. The product rules are simple and transparent. It supports automatic settlement when the event ends, and users can also close their position at any time before the event ends. This helps users participate in short-cycle market trading with greater ease.

Event Contracts are trading products centered on price direction. Simply predict whether the price of assets like BTC and ETH will rise or fall over time periods such as 5 min or 15 min, select a side (Up or Down), choose a price in the Order Book, enter a quantity, and submit the order to trade.

For example: The current event is "BTC 5-Min Up/Down (14:15–14:20)". If the user predicts the BTC price at 14:20 will be higher than at 14:15, choose Up; otherwise, choose Down. After the event ends, the system settles based on the actual result. If correct, the user's winning contracts receive the settlement value per the rules.

Each contract is priced from 0.01 to 0.99 USDT, reflecting the market's probability pricing for that outcome, with a minimum trade amount of just 1.5 USDT to participate in event trading.

Simple & Transparent

Correct prediction: After the event ends, each winning contract is settled at 1 USDT, with no settlement fee.

Incorrect prediction: The corresponding contract's value goes to zero, with no settlement fee.

No leverage, easier risk control

Event Contracts do not offer leverage and have no liquidation or margin call mechanism. The maximum loss is the amount paid when purchasing the contract.

Before the event ends, you can sell your holdings at any time via the Order Book, with flexible Take-Profit or Stop-Loss, without waiting for event settlement.
