How Crypto Firms Will Own the Octagon at Trump's White House UFC Event

Crypto firms are about to score some exclusive marketing space this Sunday, courtesy of President Donald Trump’s UFC extravaganza on the White House South Lawn—but that’s not all.

As with any other event hosted by the mixed martial arts behemoth, the UFC Octagon is set to feature the logos of several crypto firms, including VeChain, Polymarket, and Stake, according to photos recently shared on X by freelance photographer Andrew Leyden.

The highly anticipated spotlight comes years after the fighting league clinched a massive sponsorship with Crypto.com, the co-presenting partner of Sunday’s event. Yet the companies’ slated presence highlights the unconventional ways that Trump’s pro-crypto agenda is indirectly manifesting in front of the government’s most recognizable backdrops.

A Polymarket spokesperson told Decrypt that the company—which counts Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., as an advisor—is a proud sponsor of UFC Freedom 250, “representing the shared spirit of competition, participation, and civic engagement that prediction markets bring to life.”

The spokesperson for the prediction market that primarily operates overseas noted that it’s especially honored to present a community-focused award “recognizing the exceptional military, law enforcement, and first responders who demonstrate outstanding service.”

The UFC has recently elevated other crypto firms. Exodus, the self-custodial finance platform, was named the championship’s official payments partner less than two weeks ago.

An Exodus spokesperson told Decrypt that the firm is proud to support the event as part of its broader sponsorship with the league. They added that the arrangement isn’t tied to “any political party, candidate, or policy agenda” but is instead aimed at connecting with a global audience.

Exodus team members will be supporting the partnership around the event, including “activations connected to the fan experience,” the Exodus spokesperson continued.

Zach Witkoff, co-founder of World Liberty Financial , posted a video to X late Friday of White unveiling the Trump-backed crypto firm as a presenting partner. The company will dole out $250,000 in its stablecoin, USD1, for Fight of the Night bonuses, the son of U.S. Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff added.

Although crypto ventures tied to the president have drawn allegations of corruption , the White House has repeatedly denied that those dealings create conflicts of interest.

On Friday, a federal judge blocked a request from two Virginia residents to stop the UFC fight from taking place on Sunday, per CNN . In a lawsuit, plaintiffs argued that the for-profit event, which coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday, couldn’t be held lawfully on federal grounds.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee, found the plaintiffs lacked legal standing and had waited too long to request an emergency intervention.

At a press conference for the White House bout, UFC CEO Dana White declared weeks ago that athletes awarded a Fight of the Night bonus would receive the largest bonus in the sports promotion’s history, totaling $1 million worth of Crypto.com’s flagship token, CRO, he said.

Last year, Trump Media, the operator of Truth Social, began working with Crypto.com on prediction markets , exchange-traded funds , and a publicly traded, CRO-buying treasury firm . Meanwhile, the exchange has donated millions of dollars to the pro-Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc.

In some ways, the publicity echoes another event held in the nation’s capital last year, which also coincided with Trump’s birthday. For the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary military parade, Coinbase served as a sponsor, with its logo displayed alongside tanks and rows of soldiers.

The exchange’s sponsorship, alongside military contractors such as Palantir, drew criticism from some parts of the crypto community—who argued that it conflicted with the industry’s deep-rooted skepticism toward state power. Still, Kara Calvert, Coinbase’s vice president of U.S. policy, posted on X that she was “honored to represent” the firm at the event.
